The Polar Lights 1:10 RC car has been a great choice for outdoor family days. It is fast, sturdy and large enough to feel much more exciting than a basic toy car.

Our Experience
We have used these cars in all kinds of outdoor spaces, but one of our favorite places is the local BMX track.
We usually take the boys bikes, kites and a football as well, so the RC cars become part of a full family day outdoors rather than just a quick toy at home.
The cars have taken plenty of knocks and some fairly disrespectful treatment from the kids, but they have held up really well. The boys especially enjoy the speed and drifting ability.
Having two batteries included is also a big advantage, as it gives them more time to play without constantly stopping to recharge.
The Main Drawback
The cars are rear-wheel drive rather than 4WD.
That makes them great fun for drifting, but they can be difficult to control on loose ground. Keeping them in a straight line on gravel or dirt is almost impossible at times.
For rougher terrain and more predictable handling, we would prefer a 4WD option.

Our Verdict
The Polar Lights 1:10 RC car is fast, durable and great fun for outdoor use.
It is not the easiest car to control on loose terrain because of the rear-wheel-drive setup, but that is also part of what makes the drifting so enjoyable.
Overall, it has been a reliable product, the boys have had plenty of use from it, and we would definitely buy it again.
